My heart bleeds selfishly
It’s shameless for what it does to me
You see my heart speaks for my brain
No thinking man would ever act this way

Can’t seem to break away from her chains
Her love in my lungs I need to blow away
You’d think after all this time I’d be on my way
And find a new place for my head to lay

Some days I just stay under the covers

Menstruating heart lying curbside
Gasping for air and fighting to survive
The warmth I used to feel is oh so cold
Think happy thoughts and watch my world unfold
